Big Ten Bloggers Pick'em - FINAL

The Football Pick'em is over.

After winning the regular season, Buckeye Battle Cry was unable to finish in the post season. Seems apt considering the nature of Ohio State's post season... well we don't need to go there. I guess the Buckeye's couldn't keep up with Gopher Speed!

Fortunately I was able to rig the system enough that the brilliant, insightful and witty Gopher Nation moved from 5th to a first place tie during the bowl season.

Big Ten Bloggers Pick'em - FINAL Regular Season

So we had some dramatic movement in the final regular season week of the pick'em.

Ohio State's dominance over Michigan continued as Buckeye Battle Cry moved from 4th place to 1st finishing just ahead of Michigan Sports Center to win the regular season title. Probably a good thing for BBC that there wasn't a Florida school involved in the pick'em!

This week was a high scoring week for everyone. Most people had only 1 game wrong, but only 1 was perfect. Off the Tracks got all 15 points this week and made a leap from 7th to tied for 5th. That's big time! A handful of other bloggers would have been perfect had Minnesota not lost to NDSU but that is life.

Another exciting week in the Big Ten. I know everyone is waiting with anticipation to see the updated polls (not THIS poll). This week John at the Hoosier Report made a monster leap in the polls by having the only perfect week, impressive when he picks against his own team to go 6/6 on the weekend. Adam at Buckeye Lane has the dubious distinction of going 0/5 on B10 games but he did manage 1 point for picking OSU over Kent State. At least his team is #1 in the country for the week.

You may notice that a new name not only has been added to the pick'em but they also have jumped to the top of the standings. Off the Tracks is a new member of the Big Ten Bloggers and the first from Purdue. He submitted picks for this week so I went back on his blog and found he posted picks for weeks 1 and 2. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt and submitted those picks into the Pick'em. If he wins then anyone who wants can submit a formal complaint. Since the winner of this prestigious contest only wins respect and admiration from the Big Ten Blogosphere, I'm guessing it won't be a huge deal.

So a rough week for the Big Ten. 7-4 was the best any of us did and that was achieved by Michigan Sports Center, Off the Tracks and Buckeye Lane.

After 2 weeks we still have 2-way tie for first place. Hawkeye State and Buckeye Battle Cry maintained their lead through 2 weeks.

Nobody had a perfect week. Run up the Score accurately picked Oregon over Michigan (the only Oregon pick) but they incorrectly had W. Michigan over Indiana. I don't think that I received picks from Badger Tracker (please correct me if I'm wrong). He'll have some ground to make up but with conference games counting 3 points appiece and Bowl games as 4 there is always a chance.
